Sweepstakes! Going against the grain.
That’s right. I’m running a sweepstakes that starts in just 4 days! I’m incredibly excited about how it’s all coming together. AND, it’s been an experience that goes against everything I have always done before – in a good way!
Normally in my life, I’m the planner – to a fault. I plan. Double-check. Dot the i’s. Cross the t’s. And then go back over everything again with a fine-toothed comb. And if there’s anything off at all, sometimes I completely throw it all out and start over (yeah, extreme, I know, but I’ve done it!).
Now, there are definitely times and places when my ability to cover the details hasn’t only been appropriate, but it’s been highly needed and valued. Which of course, perpetuated the habit. Thing is, when I decided to launch my website and create a business for myself, it didn’t take me long to discover that I was ultimately holding myself back. Sometimes, ya just need to jump!
So, I’ve jumped at some opportunities along the way – and have failed just as miserably several times because I went from one extreme to the other. I went so far away from what works for me that it simply didn’t work for me. I tried being something I wasn’t. No wonder it didn’t work!
Now, we’ve come to the Sweepstakes. I’ve been wanting to find a way to connect with you, those I serve, for years. I really want to know what your questions are! I just haven’t known how to do it, and have been focused on building some very basic structures behind the scenes.
Then the opportunity presented itself. I took a hard look at it. Slept on it over night. Then jumped. And when I jumped, I gave myself all of 3 weeks to pull together an 8 week Sweepstakes! Is it completely planned out to the T? Nope. And it starts in 4 days! Do I know what all the challenges are that might come up? Nope. And it starts in just 4 days! Have I ever done this before? Nope. And…. did I mention it starts in 4 days?!
Lol. I’m excited. And I’m scared. But it’s a calculated risk. I haven’t done a Sweepstakes before, but I understand the concept. My past experiences have given me the knowledge I need to solve the potential problems that might arise with the technical sides. Plus, I know I have a great team that I can call if I’m really desperate. Will this stretch me? Absolutely! But I also know it’s going to be fun, valuable, and totally worth it too.
I look forward to sharing more along the way. I’m sure I’ll have some mistakes and successes, and I KNOW I’ll learn from it. Plus, I’m really thrilled that I’ll be learning from you too! I plan to share responses to the questions you pose and look forward to reading your comments.
In the meantime, where might you step outside your own comfort zone with confidence today?
